JULIE BERHOFF is an award winning production designer.
She won the Emmy and the Art Directors Guild award in 2017 & 2018 for THE HANDMAID’S TALE. She was also nominated in 2017 for excellence in production design on ELECTRIC DREAMS .
Julie began her career bulidng special effects models for various companies in Chicago and Los Angeles. That soon led to Art direction and designing the stop motion animation show, THE PJ’S, starring EDDIE MURPHY.
Beginning in 2002, Julie began designing commercials and music videos for directors such as HERB RITTS, DAVID LACHAPELLE and JARED HESS.
Her first feature film was SAW, directed by JAMES WAN which earned over 103M. She also collaborated with JAMES WAN on 4 other films including THE CONJURING 1 & 2. In 2005, she segued into comedy, designing the Oscar and Golden Globe Nominated Film, THE KIDS ARE ALL RIGHT and in 2015 Emmy Winner, OLIVE KITTERIDGE both directed by LISA CHOLODENKO.
In 2016, Julie collaborated with REED MORANO, BRUCE MILLER AND WARREN LITTLEFIELD on the Super Duper Award winning show THE HANDMAID’S TALE.
Soon after, she designed 5 episodes of ELECTRIC DREAMS based on the short stories of PHILLIP K. DICK.
After being on the road for more than a year, Julie happily returned back to Los Angeles to join forces with PATTY JENKINS on ONE DAY SHE’LL DARKEN, a true story based on the life of Fauna Hodel set in 1965 LA.
